Tangential Velocity

    For an object moving in a circular path of radius r, tangential velocity is calculated as,

    Tangential velocity is the instantaneous linear velocity of a circular moving object and its direction is towards the tangent of the circular path.

    It is a vector quantity, means it have both magnitude and direction.

    Its SI unit is meter per seconds (m/s).

    For constant angular velocity, the tangential velocity of an object increases with the increase in the radius of the circular path.

    It is used in engineering for calculation the motion of the rotational system.
