Stoke’s Law

Stokes law describes the drag force which resist the motion of the smooth, spherical and small object which moves in the fluid.

During calculation of the drag force in stokes law, there are following assumptions like laminar flow, no intertial effect, spherical object, uniform composition of the object, smooth surface of the object.

There are various application of stokes law:

    1. Viscosity measurement.
    2. Industrial machining.
    3. Physics experiment.
    4. Sedimentation and separation.
    5. Meteorlogy.
