Leyden Capacitor is an electrical device which stores static electricity. Leyden jar was effectively independently discovered by Ewald Georg Von Kiest and Pieter van Musschenbroek in the mid 18th century. Leyden jar is the first capacitor. It consists of a glass jar in which metal foil is coated inside and outside surface and a metal rod projecting through non-conducting rod.
