Physicists use quantum mechanics to describe our world. The first illusion has to do with what matter is made of, the conventional view is that the physical universe it is composed of particles-electrons, protons, atoms, and so on. If you look at the theory closely, you find that matter appears to have wavelike properties, like those of water waves and sound waves.
Quantum mechanics implies there are two layers of illusion in our perceptions of the world. The first illusion has to do with what matter is made of; the second illusion is even more astonishing. In quantum mechanics, matter appears to have wavelike properties, like those of water waves. The second illusion is even more astonishing: quantum mechanics implies there are many versions of the physical world-and of each of us.
