Capacitor connected in parallel

    Let us suppose capacitors of capacitance C1 and C2 are connected in parallel and voltage ‘V’ is applied across it.

    Capacitor connected in parallel

    The net charge flowing through voltage ‘V’ is q.

    Therefore,

    qn = q1 + q2

    As, q = CV

    CeqV = C1V + C2V

    Ceq = C1 + C2

    The equivalence capacitance for ‘n’ number of capacitors connected in parallel is,

    Ceq = C1 + C2 + ……… + Cn.
