Archimedes’ Principle

    Archimedes’ principle states that any object completely or partially submerged in a fluid at rest is acted upon by an upward force or buoyant force which is equal to the magnitude of fluid displaced by the object.

    Weight of displaced fluid = Weight of object in a vacuum – Weight of object in the fluid.

    Weight of displaced fluid = 5kg – 3kg = 2kg.

    Apparent immersed weight = Weight of object – Weight of displaced fluid.

    Apparent immersed weight = 5kg – 2kg = 3kg.
